How is Didi MAla jewellery made?
I make all Didi Mala jewellery by hand at my Cornish workbench. Each piece is unique and has its own character, meaning items may differ slightly from the images you see online. I predominantly work with Recycled Silver (aka Eco-Silver) as a sustainable alternative to Sterling Silver. All items are also available in 18k Gold Vermeil, which is plated by a 3rd party.
How to shOp with Didi Mala?
There are three ways for you to shop Didi Mala jewellery:
Made-To-Order
Many of my pieces are made-to-order to minimise waste and help shape my work load (it’s just little old me creating everything you purchase) . Rings are predominately made-to-order due to sizing, as well as some other pieces. These items take up to 10 working days for me to create at my workbench, and up to 3 weeks if they need to be sent to a 3rd party Gold Plater. These items are clearly labelled throughout the website, but if you need something sooner, please get in touch and I will see what I can do.
In stock & Ready-made items
I make a limited number of best sellers and popular sizes to take to markets and help minimise website delivery lead-times. You can find these pieces under IN STOCK & READY TO SHIP in the website menu. These items are posted within 1-2 working days of placing your order.
Commissions
I have a limited number for commission slots each month. If there is something you want making bespoke for you or a loved one, please just get in touch. Commissions can range from a previous Didi ring you have loved but want in your size, to creating something truly unique just for you.

How do I find my ring size?
The most common FAQ! All my rings are made to UK ring sizes. To find your ring size you can order a free ring sizer from me (you just pay P+P), from elsewhere online, or by visiting your local jeweller. You can also measure the internal diameter of a ring you already own.
How do I find my bangle size?
The size of your bangle will be determined by the size of your hand, not your wrist. You can either measure the diameter of a bangle you already have, or tuck your thumb into your hand (as if you are putting on a bangle) and measure the widest part.
I make my fixed bangles in 3 sizes:
Small - 6.2cm internal diameter (approx 19cm circumference)
Medium - 6.5cm internal diameter (approx 20cm circumference)
Large - 6.8cm internal diameter (approx 21cm circumference)
Other bangles can be flexed to get on and off - just be careful not to misshape!
What is Eco-Silver?
Eco-Silver is recycled silver made from repurposed jewellery or other scrap silver, such as medical equipment. Eco-Silver is 100% recycled silver, and has all the high quality characteristics of Sterling Silver. As recycled silver does not need to be mined, it is an environmentally friendly choice for your jewellery.
What is 18k Gold Vermeil?
18k Gold Vermeil is a thick coating of gold over a silver base. Using a minimum of 2.5 microns means the gold is much harder wearing than normal plating. I choose to apply a much thicker layer of gold (5 microns) to ensure your pieces stay golder for longer. Although this method is hardy, it can still wear, so please be careful how you care for your jewellery.
How long will it take to recEive by order?
HANDMADE-TO-ORDER - For items marked ‘made-to-order’, please allow 7-10 working days for your order to be despatched.
IN STOCK - Items listed as ‘in stock’ will be despatched within 1-2 working days.
If an order contains both Made-to-order items and In-stock, your order will be despatched when all items are ready for delivery. If you need something sooner, please leave me a note at the checkout or get in touch.
All parcels will now be sent Royal Mail Second Class Signed For. This service usually takes 2 working days. You will receive a tracking number in your despatch email.

Can you resize rings?
Yes - there is a small charge which can be paid via the website. Please get in touch to organise the ring resize and I will share my postal address for you to return the ring(s) to. Unfortunately I am unable to resize any rings with a set stone (the stone can crack under the heat), or any 18k Gold Vermeil items (as they would need to be replated).
I’ve seen something is sold out - can you make more?
I regularly update my online store with new pieces, so please check back soon or sign up to my newsletter to get notified of stock drops via email. Alternatively, please get in touch directly.
Do you take commissions?
Yes! I love creating something new and unique just for you or a loved one. Please get in touch to discuss your brief.
Is the jewellery hallmarked?
I follow the UK regulations and ensure any items of silver weighing over 7.78g are all hallmarked. Please be aware this makes lead times a little longer for commissions, and is factored into the price. If your item is not legally required to be hallmarked, but you would like it to be, this can also be arranged.
