“What is my ring size?”

RING+SIZE+copy.jpg

I hope you find this simple guide to ring sizing helpful

In an ideal world, I would recommend visiting a jewellers to measure your finger correctly.

However am conscious that we currently do not live in an ideal world so here are some recommendations to find your ring size.

  1. Do you own a Pandora Ring? They have the ring size on the inside.

  2. Measure the internal diameter of a ring you already own and use the table to identify the corresponding size.

  3. Find a piece of string, or floss, and measure the base of your knuckle, this will show the inside circumference. Please then use the table to identify the corresponding size.

  4. For Midi-rings use the string or floss technique.

Gold-Filled, Gold-Plated, Gold-Vermeil - “What’s the difference?”

Gold-Filled 4.jpg

Below is some info about the Gold Jewellery options on the market, including the ones I currently use and others I plan to use in the future.

Solid Gold

A material I love and is always an option upon request. However as I want to make jewellery that is affordable for you all, it isn’t one I currently choose to use among my every day collections.

  • High Cost

  • Hypoallergenic

  • Great for everyday wear

Gold Vermeil

You will have heard of this material from the likes on Monica Vinader & Missoma. With a core of Sterling Silver and a coating of gold at-least 2.5 microns thick, it is ideal for everyday wear. This is an avenue I will be exploring to enable more unique styles made in Sterling Silver to be coated in Gold.

  • More affordable

  • Good quality & won’t tarnish

  • Good for everyday wear

Gold Filled

The Gold styles you currently see in my collections are Gold-Filled. Using a base metal core makes this material more affordable than the previous two options but you still get a thick layer of gold (market standard is minimum 5% coating) which makes it a great every day option.

  • Even more affordable

  • Good quality & won’t tarnish

  • Good for everyday wear

Gold Plated

Most affordable option. However there is no industry standard to the thickness of gold applied.

  • Lowest cost

  • Will tarnish easily

  • May irritate skin

Please note all jewellery needs to be cared for and should not be worn when washing/bathing, swimming, applying lotion or perfumes.
